Bought as a gift and couldn't beat the price. Totally awesome if you love SPORE.
I recently got this bundle for my self, well aware of what I was getting. The art book is just that, an art book, while The Evolution talks more about the development of the game and has more pictures to look through.The guide wasn't bad either. It was heavier then I expected, but that's ok.If you own the Galactic Edition of Spore (as I do), then you'll notice a lot of similarities between the art book that comes with the Galactic Edition, and The Evolution that comes with this bundle. Similar, but they're not the same. Spore really isn't a complicated game and is easy to figure out, but there may have been a few things you might have missed that are covered in the guide. It's a nice addition.
Looked and sounded an AWFUL lot like it contained the game as well. Turns out it's just the guide and artbook. I bought this at Gamestop, thinking it had the game with it as well. I wish I would have known better. How misleading could something be. It had the ESRB rating on it, system requirements, and, on the back, read "One Game of Evolution, Two Species of Books.". Fortunately, the stock image clarifies that it's JUST the artbook and guide, and DOESN'T contain the game as well. Buy it online to avoid disappointment.
I think i would have done better to just bought the art book instead of the guide with it. but its a good value for the money but it just seems the guide isnt as really useful as it could be. but the art book is really nice.
The art book is also fantastic. This is what guidebooks should be. Informative, concise, and with a wonderful presentation. The only problem is the subject matter.Buying this book is like buying a guidebook to playing WAR (yes, the card game). Spore is terrible.
